AutoMod
Removes rule-breaking messages automatically. It’s off until you turn it on. Dashboard → AutoMod, or /automod.
Rules
| Rule | What it catches |
|---|---|
| Banned words | Your word list, with wildcards. Also catches tricks like b.a.d and l33t spelling. |
| Discord invites | Invite links to other servers. |
| Links | Any link except sites on your allow list (YouTube, Twitch, Tenor and GIPHY are allowed to start). |
| CAPS | Mostly-capital messages over a length you set. |
| Spam | Too many messages in a few seconds. |
| Mass mentions | Too many @mentions in one message. |
Warnings & timeouts
When AutoMod removes a message it can warn the member. After a number of strikes within a time window, they’re timed out for the minutes you set. Removed messages go to your mod-log channel so staff can review them.
Who is skipped
The server owner and staff (Manage Messages or Timeout Members) are never checked. You can also skip roles and channels.
AutoMod needs Manage Messages to remove messages and Moderate Members to time people out.
