Adding the bot
You need the Manage Server permission (or to own the server) to add a bot.
- Click Add to Discord.
- Pick your server from the list.
- Leave the permissions ticked and click Authorize.
Slash commands can take a minute to appear. If you don’t see them when you type
/, restart your Discord app.Move the bot’s role up
Discord only lets a bot give or remove roles that are below its own role. In Server Settings → Roles, drag the Rovik role above any roles it should hand out (auto role, reaction roles, level rewards, the Verified role).
What the permissions are for
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| Manage Roles | Auto role, reaction roles, level rewards, verification |
| Manage Channels | Tickets, Server Setup, lock/unlock, hiding channels until verified |
| Manage Messages | AutoMod removing messages, /purge |
| Moderate Members | Timeouts from AutoMod and /timeout |
| Kick / Ban Members | /kick, /ban, removing unverified members |
| Manage Server | Raid lockdowns (pausing invites, verification level) |
| View Audit Log | Showing who did something in Logs |
| Mention @everyone | Pinging roles in Twitch alerts and announcements |
